AXDEV Group Inc., AXDEV Global Inc. and AXDEV Europe GmbH (“AXDEV”) is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, security and privacy of personal information. We are committed to collecting, using and disclosing personal information responsibly and only to the extent necessary for the goods and services we provide.
AXDEV’s Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) discloses the privacy practices with regard to the enrolment within our Communities of Innovation and participation in our studies. This Privacy Policy has been developed in compliance with all relevant and applicable privacy legislations.
SCOPE AND APPLICATION OF THE POLICY
This Privacy Policy governs your use of the website www.axdevgroup.com including, without limitation, all content such as text, information, images, forums, software, services, materials, and all information made available to you through this site (collectively known as the “Materials”).
As a member of our Communities of Innovation, you will be eligible to receive invitations to participate in interviews, surveys, focus groups or other data collection initiatives. In the event such opportunities arise, we may contact you by any of the contact methods you provide to AXDEV.
LEGALITY
We are a Canadian-based company. Therefore, by accessing our website and enrolling in our Communities of Innovation, you acknowledge having been informed that our website is hosted in Canada. If you are accessing the website from a physical location within the United States, Asia, the European Union or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure that differ from Canadian laws, please be advised that by using our website you are transferring your personal information to Canada and you are consenting to such transfer. Use of this website and the interpretation of this Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of Canada and the lays of the province of Québec. Through your use of this Website, you consent to the application of such laws and the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of Canada and the province of Québec in all disputes.
A printed version of this Privacy Policy and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to this Privacy Policy to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form.
AXDEV complies with all provincial and federal Canadian laws regarding the collection, use and storage of personal information as well as international standards on this subject.
Only participants 18 or older are eligible to participate in our studies.
PRIVACY, CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
Privacy: AXDEV appreciates the fundamental right to privacy and respects that disclosure of information remains at the discretion of the Communities of Innovation members.
Confidentiality: AXDEV is aware of its obligation to safeguard the information with which it is entrusted. Your identity will be kept confidential to AXDEV (except where disclosure is required by rule, regulation, law enforcement, governmental official, legal authority or similar requirements). Your participation in any of our studies, and your data related to this study, will never be disclosed to any unauthorized third-party entity or person.
The definition of authorized persons may vary for each research study but is always clearly defined in a consent form that must be agreed to in order to participate. In general, authorized person is limited to members of the AXDEV team, and if applicable, members of the independent ethical committee that reviewed and approved the ethical aspects of this study to help protect your rights and welfare.
Security: AXDEV is committed to protecting the information that it is provided with. For that purpose, we use a number of international industry-standard security technologies and procedures designed to help protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Despite these measures, no guarantees may be provided that we can fully eliminate security risks associated with information.
AXDEV protects personal information, regardless of the format in which it is stored, against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. AXDEV employees are made aware of the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information via ongoing training and as a precondition of full time / part time / or contract employment.
COLLECTION AND USAGE OF INFORMATION
AXDEV is dedicated to limiting, to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by AXDEV, the amount and type of personal information collected.
We will use your email address (and other information you chose to share with AXDEV) only to communicate with you regarding important AXDEV initiatives, relevant news, upcoming studies, and any other information as it may become available.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
AXDEV maintains a strict “Anti-Spam” policy, which means that we pledge not to provide / disclose your contact information to any third party. We are compliant with International Antispam Legislations with respect to personal email usage.
All participants in our Communities of Innovation (including those located outside Canada) have provided a prior explicit consent in which they agree to be contacted by AXDEV via their email addresses.
The consent can be provided in the following manners:
- Opt–in, via an option at the end of an online questionnaire for a study in which you have participated;
- In writing, using a consent form which can be downloaded from our website;
- By phone (recorded telephone conversation in which you agree to receive future communications from AXDEV Group).
Your explicit approval provided via any of the methods mentioned above, will be stored in our servers during the time you are part of our Communities of Innovation or any given study.
ACCURACY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Communities of Innovation members are responsible for ensuring that their personal information and profile data are true, accurate and current. However, AXDEV will use its best effort to ensure that personal information is as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.
WITHDRAWAL FROM OUR COMMUNITIES OF INNOVATION
If you no longer wish to be a member of AXDEV’s Communities of Innovation, you may request to be removed at any time. If you choose to opt-out of Communities of Innovation, your personal and contact information will be removed from our database within the following 10 business days after receiving the request, and a confirmation email will be sent to you.
A request to be withdrawn from AXDEV Communities of Innovation or to correct any of the information you provided can be made either by phone or by regular mail, using the information provided in the Contact us section below, or by sending an email to institute@axdevgroup.com.
Once a request to be withdrawn is received, AXDEV will destroy all the personal information of that participant and will not consider that information for any upcoming studies or communication.
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, with or without advance notice. In the event of any change in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, or in the Privacy Policy document itself, we will display a notice on the AXDEV website (https://www.axdevgroup.com/) or send you an email, so that you may review the changed terms prior to continuing to use the site.
